Aster — Privacy Policy
Aster — Daily Horoscope, for Android and iOS (com.brainbloomer.aster).
Last updated: September 7, 2026
The short version. Aster asks for your email address and your birth details so it can build your natal chart and write your daily reading. Your chart, your reading history and your preferences live on your phone. Our servers keep your email and subscription state so your subscription follows you, and they keep a de-identified cache of generated reading text. We do not sell your data, we run no advertising or attribution SDK, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
1. Who we are
Aster is operated by Benetti Corporation, a Texas C-Corporation ("Benetti", "we", "us").
- Benetti Corporation, 1401 Lavaca Street #40044, Austin, Texas 78701, USA
- Email: benettimedia@gmail.com
- Phone: +1 878-888-6823
This policy covers the Aster mobile app and the Aster pages on app.brainbloomer.com. Other
BrainBloomer apps have their own policies; this one describes Aster only.
2. What Aster collects
Email address
Aster asks for your email address during onboarding and will not finish setup without a valid one. Your email is stored on your device and is sent to our backend with each reading request and with subscription checks, where it identifies your account and your entitlement. Aster has no password: your email address is your identity.
Birth details
You enter your birth date, and optionally your birth time and your birthplace. Birth time and birthplace can both be skipped ("I don't know"), and the app still works with a reduced chart. If you enter a birthplace, we send that text to our own geocoding endpoint, which returns candidate cities; the one you pick contributes a city label, latitude, longitude and IANA time zone. This is derived from what you typed. Aster never requests your device's location permission and never reads your live GPS position.
Natal chart
Your birth date, optional birth time and optional coordinates are sent to our chart-computation endpoint, which returns the chart. That endpoint performs deterministic astronomy math and writes nothing to storage. The resulting chart is saved on your device and attached to each reading request.
Install identifier
On first launch Aster generates a random UUID and keeps it on the device. It is not your advertising ID, it carries no personal information, and it is not shared with any advertising network. It ties analytics events, your subscription entitlement and your push registration to this install.
Usage events
Aster sends product-analytics events to our own backend. Each event carries the event name (for example
paywall_viewed, subscribe_succeeded, settings_opened), your install
identifier, the product id, environment, platform, app version, timestamps, a flag marking non-production
traffic, and event-specific properties. Events do not carry your email, your name or your birth details.
Crash and diagnostic data
When a crash-reporting key is configured for a build, Aster reports crashes and performance traces to Sentry. The identity attached to a Sentry report is the install identifier only — not your email. Console logs are dropped before they leave the device, and routine network failures are filtered out.
Subscription and purchase data
Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or — for a web purchase — Stripe. Aster receives and forwards purchase receipts so we can verify entitlement. We never see or store your card number. Aster caches "you are entitled" plus a verification timestamp on the device.
Push notification token
Only if you turn notifications on. The registration carries the push token, your install identifier, platform, provider, bundle id, environment and product id. Notifications are optional and the app works fully without them.
3. What Aster does not collect
- No advertising or attribution SDK. The app's dependency manifest contains no ad network, attribution, or third-party analytics SDK, and the iOS privacy manifest declares no tracking and no tracking domains.
- No camera, microphone, photo library or external storage. Those Android permissions are explicitly blocked in the app's build configuration.
- No device location permission. The only location-shaped data Aster holds is the city you typed as your birthplace.
- No contacts, no health data, no browsing history.
- We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
4. Where your data goes
| Recipient | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Benetti backend (Google Cloud, United States) | Email, chart summary and birth facts at reading time, install identifier, analytics events, entitlement state, push token | To generate readings, run the subscription, and operate the app |
| Our AI reading provider, called by our backend | The chart summary and date needed to write the reading | To generate the reading text |
| Sentry | Crash and diagnostic reports, keyed to the install identifier | To find and fix errors |
| Apple, Google, Stripe | Your payment details, which they collect directly | To bill and manage the subscription |
Each provider operates under its own privacy policy. All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
5. What is stored, and where
- On your device: your email, birth details, natal chart, cached daily readings, onboarding state, usage counters, and the cached entitlement flag. Uninstalling the app removes them.
- On our servers: your entitlement record, anchored to your install identifier and your email address, so a paid subscription is recognised across sessions; analytics events; and your push registration if you enabled notifications.
- Reading cache: generated reading text is cached under a key derived from a hash of a coarse chart signature plus the date. Your name, email and install identifier are deliberately excluded from that cache. We do not keep a server-side copy of your chart as a user record.
Our servers are in the United States.
6. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account from inside Aster: Settings → Delete account. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period — sign back in within those 30 days and the deletion is cancelled. After the grace period the record is permanently removed. If you no longer have the app installed, email benettimedia@gmail.com from the address on the account and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in your device's subscription settings; we cannot cancel them for you. Billing records are retained for the period tax law requires; they contain invoice details, not your chart or your readings.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data. You can edit your birth details at any time in Settings. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. To make a request, email benettimedia@gmail.com.
8. Children
Aster is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use HTTPS for all app-to-server traffic, encryption at rest on our cloud provider, and role-based access controls on the backend. No system is perfectly secure; we do not claim otherwise.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
